The 3rd edition: studio 54

On November 9th 2023, the CFBA hosted another successful edition of Cocktails and Connections, which was the grooviest Studio 54 themed networking event of the year. With keynote speakers such as the co-founders of DOMREBEL, Don Nguyen and Justin Svatina, and 30+ invited guests from the Montreal fashion industry, attendees had plenty of networking opportunities and connections to form in the unmatched ambiance of Apartment 200.

CONCORDIA’S FASHION SHOWCASE

On March 23rd, 2023, the CFBA hosted its first ever edition of The CFBA Edit: Concordia’s Fashion Showcase. The sold-out event, themed “Punk Prep”, featured a fashion show followed by a marketplace, highlighting the brands of fellow Concordia students and alumni. The brands included Sick Day, OSČ, Stitchd Mtl, Hannah Silver King, Milmo, Lucid Knots, Userunknown and We Met Online.


Fashion conversations

On February 4th, 2023, the CFBA hosted its 6th edition of its annual conference “Fashion Conversations”. This year’s conference themed “Corporate Couture” explored what a future career in fashion could look like for attendees. Cristina Mendoza, Global Development & Strategy at SILK LAUNDRY and Product Knowledge Specialist at RICK OWENS gave the keynote speech while other workshops including styling, creative direction, fashion marketing, buying and entrepreneurship were also available for attendees. After the event, students had the opportunity to network with professionals from Montreal’s fashion industry.

Cocktails & connections

On November 10th 2022, The CFBA hosted its second edition of Cocktails & Connections, a SOLD OUT networking event, hosting 150 attendees and 30+ invited guests. Students all around Montreal had the opportunity to network with professionals within the fashion industry and hear from our keynote speaker - Anne-Sophie Goulet, founder of ANSO ATELIER . Invited guests and representatives from numerous companies were also in attendance such as SSENSE, Silk Laundry, Rick Owens, & many more.

FASHION CONVERSATIONS: BACK TO THE FUTURE [OF FASHION]

On March 19th 2022, the CFBA hosted the 5th annual Fashion Conversations. This year’s conference entitled Back To The Future [Of Fashion] explored what a future career in fashion could look like. Workshops included topics such as fashion & tech, starting a brand, styling, buying and social media. After the event, students had the opportunity to network with professionals from Montreal’s fashion industry.

 

cocktails & connections: the rebrand EVENT

In celebration of our rebranding, the CFBA hosted a networking cocktail at Apt.200 on Thursday, November 18th. During the event, students had the opportunity to network with business professionals from the Montréal fashion industry and fellow students who also have an interest in fashion.

 

FASHION CONVERSATIONS: THE THIRD CHAPTER

For its third edition, the only fashion-oriented conference event at Concordia is dedicated to helping students learn about career opportunities in Montreal’s fashion industry. The event featured a keynote speaker, a panel discussion, workshops on various topics, and a networking cocktail with recruiting companies.

 

ECHOES OF FASHION

Echoes of Fashion was the only fashion-oriented sustainability event at the John Molson School of Business, hosted by the CFBA, JSEC and Enactus Concordia.

This event was a great opportunity to learn more about sustainability and conscious consumption. The event featured a panel discussion and a workshop, followed by a networking cocktail and marketplace. During the marketplace, an exclusive look at The Nu Collection was offered, which leverages the talent of nine amazing artists by displaying their unique art on sustainably sourced t-shirts.

 

Youtube launch cocktail event

The CFBA celebrated the launch of their Youtube channel with a networking event consisting of 80 students, alumni, and industry professionals. Watch our first Youtube video below!

 

FASHION CONVERSATIONS: THE first CHAPTER

Students had the chance to select workshops that spark their interests. Workshops covered various topics related to the fashion industry, as well as succeeding and paving ones path in this saturated business. In addition to the workshops, there was a great opportunity to meet with recruiters and score amazing internships. And lastly, this was an opportunity to mingle with the current executive team,  just in time for recruitment season.
